The Stage Show

Patrick Roche’s solo theatrical show interweaves his poems with storytelling, comedy, improv, multimedia skits, dance, and impressions.

Experience a journey through pop culture, queer identity, body image, a mental breakdown, sudden internet fame, therapists (both good and very bad), and more, balancing heartfelt explorations of mental health and grief with all the humor and unexpected levity that can be found throughout.

A Socially Acceptable Breakdown challenges everyone to understand, connect to, and laugh with each other even in the face of all of our many breakdowns.

Patrick debuted A Socially Acceptable Breakdown in 2020 at the Peoples Improv Theater in New York City to sold out crowds. The show was featured on BroadwayWorld and was then selected as part of Dixon Place’s HOT! Festival, the longest-running annual festival of its kind, celebrating LGBTQIA+ theater and art.
